These are accurate instructions that have been tested, not written, by me. Trust me I have the scars to prove it.
How to give a cat a pill
1. Pick up cat and cradle it in the crook of your left arm as if holding a baby. Position right forefinger and thumb on either side of cat’s mouth and…
i love this intelligent, beautiful girl. Thanks for standing up for the defenseless.
I know it is terrible what she did, beyond terrible. But people only care in situations like this.
I don’t see any of you reblogging info about SB250, the responsible owner act, telling people to call their local congressman so this will pass. It will be a huge step for animal rights. It is in California, but California tends to be the state that starts trends. Hopefully when we do it, other states will follow.
I don’t see anyone protesting puppy mills, where they mass breed dogs in third world conditions (or worse) and sell them to pet stores. They are kept in bunny cages, with the pads of their feet torn up and bleeding, with no vet care. The only socialization they get is to be thrown in with other dogs to get them pregnant. The females are bred for 8 years of their lives (at least) and forced to have a litter every time they go into heat, then dumped at shelters when the sick people breeding them are tired of them. Puppy mills are notorious for inbreeding dogs too, causing mental health issues.
And yes, if you go to the pet store in the mall or whatever, the dog will usually be a puppy mill dog. There are breed specific rescues for EVERY single breed, so don’t use the excuse you are looking for a pure bred or whatever, because the shelters and rescues are full of pure bred, perfectly healthy, wonderful dogs that people pass up because they don’t have AKC paperwork or don’t know the family history. You will never use the paperwork, and if you have a vet check out the dog prior to adopting, you won’t have to worry about the family line, a simple blood test can tell you all you need to know.
Did I mention most of the mommies and puppies from puppy mills have health issues and a large percentage of dogs bought from pet stores (who usually buy from puppy mills to make profits instead of looking out for the welfare of the dog) usually die within the first 4 years because they never had proper prenatal care or puppy care.
Nobody cares that because of Paris HIlton, chihuahuas are being bred smaller and smaller, taking the unhealthy runt and breeding it with other runts, often inbreeding them to get the “perfect” 2 pound chihuahua. Chihuahuas usually have large litters and dogs under a certain weight are recommended not to have babies because they will either need c-sections or will die during pregnancy, most backyard breeders (any breeder without a breeder license, before getting a dog from a “breeder” check their license, if they do not have one, do not get the dog, it will not be what you expect, health-wise or physically) do not care about the dog’s health, just money. Back to chihuahuas, they are so mass-bred now that shelters and rescues in the east coast are desperately trying to send the dogs to other parts of the country so they do not have to be euthanized. At Inland Valley Humane Society now, chihuahuas don’t stand a chance, there are so many of them, and not enough people wanting to adopt them, that when one is surrendered, it is basically put to sleep before it’s adoption period passes.
This is for the little guys and gals who cannot defend themselves or get out of bad situations like we can. We are their voices. Reblog if you care about the animals when they are not headlining the news and all over Tumblr. People need to be informed, not enough people I talk to have even heard of a puppy mill. For the sake of the little guys, pass this on.
